The full form of ELISA is Enzyme-linked Immune Sorbent Assay. Basically, it is a medical test which detects and measure the presence of antibodies in the blood sample of a person.
Such antibodies mainly produce in response to the infectious substances called antigens. By this test, if there is the presence of antibodies is confirmed in the blood sample, then it confirmed that there is a presence of antigens in the blood. That is the test is positive and the person is suffering from a disease.
In addition to its simplicity, it is also a highly sensitive test because of, it is used to identify numbers of antibody and antigen in the body such as toxins, viruses, hormones, etc.
