WWF stands for World Wide Fund for Nature.

Basically, The World Wide Fund for Nature is an international non-governmental organization. It was founded in 1961 to reduce the human impacts on the world’s environment.

Formerly,  it was known as the World Wildlife Fund, which is still official in the United States and Canada. It opened its first office in the Swiss town of Morges and is registered under Swiss law.

WWF is the largest conservation organization throughout the world with more than five million supporters in around 100 countries throughout the world.

WWF is a foundation, with 55% of funding from individuals and bequests, 19% from government sources and 8% from corporations in 2014.

Currently, WWF is working in around six areas: food, climate, freshwater, wildlife, forests, and oceans.

Biodiversity

Biodiversity meant to the variety of life on the earth. Biodiversity includes all kinds of different species of plants and animals that are really existing on the earth.

WWF mainly focuses on all those species and plants, which really needs to be protected from the rich biodiversity of the earth.

Footprint

Footprint meant to all those Human Activities which are harming the natural resources, directly and indirectly.

WWF is also working to ensure the optimum utilization of the natural resources with minimum wast of all the natural resources.
